I got into Vis-com!!!

So im focused and driven and have 2 new brief's to work on.

1.
Keeping a sketchbook and fill it in 7 weeks - for this im thinking of quickly sketching different environments i find myself in. I constantly have to go or be somewhere so it could be quite interesting and will also put a record of my life during these 7 weeks.

2.
Typography Project based on the title "State of the Nation"
We all got a letter and my understanding is we have to describe the state of the nation using that one letter.  The object is to create alot of 2D research and own 2D designs with an end design resulting into a really cool 3D letter.

My letter is "N n".  Quite happy with my letter and i'll be posting some of my images shortly!

But for now here's some contextual research of some interesting Typography of the letter in question.

Rightio, so tomorrow's the deadline for Visual Communications elective and then let's play the waiting game until then i finally got my camera fixed so here are a few pic's of my idea path

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3rd Elective but first discipline of choice Visual Communications (Graphic Design!)

So excited to finally be starting this elective!!! eeeee!!!!

So my breif is to visually create an image that describes a word. Lucky Dip informed me that this word would be PROTECT.

Super happy with my word and i have gotten to work on lots of different images to discribe "Protect".  The idea's which enlighten me most are your main images you would associate with protect, being shield's, hands & arms (body language) and medical things such as bandaids and immunisations. 

I'm fairly stuck on the idea of shield's and arms & hands though so i've been up to some research on the lot which i will be sharing in my next post.

2nd Elective - Animation

So animation had me curious as to how to create it. I was happy with the breif but daunted by the "how will i do this" task.  I tend to always think big which would take a longer time to get to know the software to enable me to create my big idea without any flaws. 

But this unfortunatley tumbled down as i made a lovely wall of obsticles for myself to beat and ended up thinking more about the obsticles than just getting stuck into work. Obsticles being the outside world taking its toll.

Though i've never been one to let anything beat me and even though i didnt get my animation completed in time, its now become a personal task for me to complete. Even though what i handed up is what will be graded i still want to a full and final piece even if it is just for my own self satisfaction and i will not post this until i am 100% happy that it is what i want it to be :)

Start of the electives... Week One

Started my Printmaking classes yesterday our breif is on the Urban environment.  Im thinking of approaching it by looking at nightlife in the city and alchohol stupifying our decisions to be senseable so i have 10 images that im working from and im hoping to pull them together to come up with series of prints to make up a sort of story.

End of Semester One

So its the end of Semester 1 since last week.  Sad that i have to end my project to be honest but whats to say i cant keep adding and finish my four sketchbooks eh?!

But good news is ALL of my work from my project "To Sense My Space" will be exhibited in the gallery of the College and open for all to see so its a first for me so im over the moon and can't wait for friends and family to see what ive been up to J
